Anatomy of a DiVosta Home

The Built-SolidTM system

The DiVosta building system was introduced by company founder, "Buz" DiVosta, in 1974. This innovative technique, along with specialized craftspeople, is used today to create DiVosta homes with a level of efficiency and quality control unmatched in the home building industry.

Here's how it works

Once surveyors stake out the corners of the house, the underground plumbing and foundation forms go into place, and the foundation is poured with steel reinforced concrete.
DiVosta's Skilled craftspeople create columns by running the steel form the foundation, up through the cells in the block, and finish by pouring concrete into the column cells. The steel in the columns is then connected into a steel and concrete tie beam around the perimeter of the top of the walls. The roof trusses are anchored to the walls by steel hurricane straps that have been embedded in the tie beam. A second floor on the two-story house is built using the same methods, including a steel reinforced concrete floor.

The DiVosta factory

Meanwhile, in DiVosta's own factory, master craftspeople are making the home's custom cabinetry for the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms. Roof trusses, air conditioning ducts, plumbing and electrical systems are pre-assembled and inspected. Every phase of construction is strictly scheduled and supervised.
The roof trusses are anchored to the solid exterior tie beam by steel straps that have been embedded in the concrete walls. Interior walls are constructed with metal stud framing.

Electrical wiring, plumbing, insulation, pre-wiring for cable television and the security system are then installed before the drywall is applied. Exterior walls are given a revolutionary, multi-layer synthetic resin finish coating that is mixed with a pre-selected color so your house will require minimal maintenance over the years.

Lush landscaping is planted with a full irrigation system. Each craftperson in the DiVosta system is a full-time specialist, perfecting one particular part of the process. The skilled crew move from one home to the next. Not a motion is wasted. This assembly-line approach reduces the construction work schedule by half and produces the quality expected in a DiVosta home.

The result is a solid structure of exceptional precision and value.
